Le Tamerici, villa on the beach of Punta Secca (Marina di Ragusa) - CIR 19088010C216883
Accommodation on the beach of Punta Secca (Marina di Ragusa), with terrace and sea view. It is located 200 m from the main square, ideal for a couple or family seaside holiday, without a car.
Outdoors
The accommodation is part of a building once incorporated into a complex of rural houses and warehouses, built at the end of the nineteenth century on the property of the prince Starrabba of Giardinelli, close to the beach of Punta Secca (Santa Croce Camerina). In the early twentieth century, a rich family of the place transformed a good part of the original buildings into his holiday home. The house, recently subjected to maintenance works (2017), offers outdoor spaces where guests can isolate themselves, and areas to enjoy the sea and the sun. A pedestrian street bordered on both sides by tamarisks and Mediterranean plants accesses the structure. From a big door, typical of Sicilian rural houses, there is access to a large patio (36 sqm), covered by a wooden roof, which opens onto a portion of the garden with oleanders. The restored floor is made of stone bases and in an angle under the staircase, there is an old stone “pila” (washbasin), resting on a wall covered with majolica tiles (glazed and decorated ceramics) from the 19th century. From the patio, furnished with comfortable sofas, you can access the rooms of the house: on the left the part that overlooks the sea, on the right the former warehouses renovated and transformed into living spaces. Also from the patio, through a staircase, you access a large terrace (30 sqm) overlooking the beach and the Saracen tower of the fishing village.
The main living room overlooks the sea, opening onto a portion of a terrace (10 sqm) which leads directly to the beach.
Interior
The interior spaces in the part of the former manor house are characterized by high ceilings, rock stone walls, antique floors, a 19th century majolica cladding in the small kitchen, original doors and fixtures. This part of the house consists of a living room with sea view, a dining room overlooking the tamarisk pedestrian street, a small kitchen fully equipped that opens onto the patio, a bathroom with shower and a bedroom that opens on the garden. The covering of the kitchen is in majolica of ‘800.
In the restored areas of the former warehouses, characterized by wooden roofs like the original ones, we find a further living room with a double sofa bed that opens onto the patio, the garden and the tamarisks of the pedestrian street and a large bedroom with mezzanine overlooking the garden and the pedestrian street. On the mezzanine is placed the double bed, while downstairs a conversation area and wardrobe. The kitchenette, to be used exclusively for the preparation of breakfast (1 sink, 1 electric stove and fridge) and the bathroom with shower open onto the hallway that connects the two rooms.
All the rooms have country furniture, furnishings of the 1800 and pieces of modernism.
