The beach of Pisciotto, located along the southeastern coast of Sicily about 35 km from Ragusa and 14 km from Scicli, is actually the last section of the beach of Sampieri and has the same characteristics: a beautiful fine golden sandy beach, limpid and shallow waters. It is 2 km from the village, so it is very quiet and less crowded also in July and August. Sometimes the beach is served by a travelling kiosk selling fresh drinks and granita. The cliff rising at the end of the beach offers the possibility to dive and snorkel in a clear sea, as well as enjoying the beautiful landscape of the beach of Sampieri.
Fornace Penna On the top of a 5 m cliff an ancient brick factory, called “Fornace Penna” dominates the landscape. It is an interesting ruin of industrial archeology from the early 20th century. Ancient flourishing factory in which bricks were produced for export, the Fornace is today a very popular tourist attraction, as it was the location of some episodes of the television series “Inspector Montalbano”. The whole area of the coast is considered suitable for the deposition of eggs of sea turtles and is characterized by the presence of sandy dunes. Legambiente and Italian Touring Club have counted it among the most beautiful beaches in Italy and included in the "Blue Guide 2014".
