The wide and pristine beach, also called “Raneddi”, “Ranelle” or “Granelle”, is on the border of the provinces of Ragusa (65 km) and Siracusa (60 km), slightly after the bay of Porto Ulisse, and extends along the southeastern coast of Sicily. The beach consists of fine golden sand and its waters are still shallow different meters away from the water's edge. Thanks to its large size and the cleanliness of the sea, the resort is frequented by many locals and guarantee a holiday of relax. The beach offers several equipped beach clubs.

The Pantani Longarini
The beach of Granelli is surrounded by a thick herbaceous vegetation growing among brackish lakes. The Pantani Longarini, as these lakes are called, are separated from the sea by sand dunes and are located near Syracuse, a few hundred meters from the coast. Among the few lake areas in the province of Ragusa, they constitute a large complex of marshes that stretches for several kilometers between Ispica and Pachino. Since Greeks and Romans, this area was used as an inner harbor, as it was impossible to create harbors along the coast. The area has become a resting place for many varieties of migratory birds stopping in the marsh during their seasonal movements from Africa to northern Europe. Several species can be found there, including the mallard, the flamingo, the heron, the red-crested pochard, herons and storks.
