The beach of Fondachello develops along a coast of pebbles and grainy sand. It is one of the most popular seaside resorts in eastern Sicily, located between Acireale and Taormina. It offers a coastline equipped with beach clubs, but also wide free areas. The clear and transparent sea becomes immediately deep a few meters from the shore, offering the opportunity to dive and observe small fishes. The name of this beach derives from a small warehouse, “fondaco” in Italian, which served as a staging area for those who passed along this coastal strip.
