The beach of Costa di Carro is located in the southeastern coast of Sicily, 11 km from Scicli. The small sandy crescent-shaped beach is located 1 km from Sampieri and rises along a 4 km-coast, inside of the park of Costa di Carro. The small shore, which is still pristine and immersed in the nature, is ideal for those who love to stay far from the crowding and want to enjoy the sea in total tranquility, even in July and August. Behind the sandy dunes that preserve the beach, there is a pizzeria with bar and a camping site. The location ends in a wonderful cliff that runs along the coast from Cava d’Aliga. Here is perfect for snorkeling.

The park of Costa di Carro
Instituted in 2002, this park consists of a naturalistic oasis rich in small palm trees and agaves. It is ideal for hiking lovers and for those who like high and indented cliffs. It is characterized by unique clefts, such as the “Grotta dei Colombi” (“Pigeons Cave”) and the suggestive “Spaccazza”: an inlet in the cliff through which it is possible to reach a rocky shore ideal for snorkelling. Another famous cave is known as “Covo dei Contrabbandieri” (“Smugglers’ Cave”): since it is well hidden, this indentation was a place of smuggled goods during the postwar period.
