Cava d’Aliga, a small hamlet of Scicli, is located along the southeastern coast of Sicily and is 40 km from Ragusa. It offer a small beach characterized by the presence of two cliffs that enjoy a suggestive panoramic view, especially at sunset. A small golden sandy beach washed by a clear sea is enclosed between them. The free beach is served by a beach club, which rents umbrellas and deckchair and has a bar and a restaurant. In July and August different sport fields are prepared and beach tournaments take place: it is possible to play beach volley, beach soccer, tambeach and bowls. This beach is very popular among young people and its atmosphere is always very lively during summer afternoons, while it is more quiet and less crowded in the morning. Some meters from the beach there are two wide and free parking areas.
The rocky coast of Punta Corvo
The small cliffs on this stretch of coast that formed through the waves, host suggestive cavities: this is the case of the beautiful Smuggler's Cave, a deep quarry located on the east coast of the main beach and crossed by a strip of sea that in the first afternoon is illuminated by a spectacular light. The area of Punta Corvo, where there is an old lighthouse now abandoned, is characterized by rugged cliffs and small coves covered with palmettos.
