The beach of Caucana is located in the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, between Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa, along the southeastern coast of Sicily. It is 27 km from Ragusa. The shore is about 2 km and its size let you enjoy the beach in total relax during the most crowded periods. Its beautiful golden sandy beach is washed by a blue and clear sea. It extends next to the promenade Lungomare delle Anticaglie and it is possible to park the car at the edge of the road. However, in high season it could be difficult to find a park due to the crowding, so it would be better to reach the beach in the early morning or in the early afternoon. The beach is free and it is possible to walk towards the restaurants and bars in Caucana (500 m).
The archaeological site of Caucana The settlements of Caucana, a seaside resort near Punta Secca, stand next to an archaeological park that houses the remains of past witnesses of this area in which the survivors fled to the last and final destruction by the Romans, the colony Greek Kamarina (258 BC). The archaeological park protects the beautiful beach of "Along the sea of junk" on which you stretch out, clinging to the ridge, the remains of the houses of the ancient settlement.
