The beach of Castellammare del Golfo is located east of the small city from which it takes its name. It extends along the northwestern coast of Sicily, 35 km from Trapani. The free access beach extends for more than 1 km and offers golden sand, a shallow seabed and crystalline waters. The presence of several beach clubs and coffee bars makes this area the perfect destination for families with children and for those who want to spend days at the beach enjoying all the comforts. At the beginning of the beach, there is a free parking area, but it is also possible to park the car along the road flanking the coast (via Plaja). Moreover, Castellammare del Golfo encloses a small bay of light sand and pebbles, located west of the Arab-Norman Castle. This bay, named Cala Petrolo, is located beneath Piazza Vincenzo Santangelo, a very lively area during the summer nightlife and often venue of shows. From here, it is possible to walk and reach the several coffee bars and restaurants of the city. This free access beach offers also a rental service for sunbeds and umbrellas. In order to reach the bay it is necessary to go down a staircase that leads from the square to the beach. This is the perfect place for snorkeling and surf lovers, but also for those who want just to have a bath enjoying the suggestive atmosphere of the evening.
