Marina di Ragusa (Sicily)

"Blue Flag" 2009, 2010, 2011 blue flag

For the third year running the beach of Marina di Ragusa has received the "Blue Flag" eco-label, awarded by Fee (Foundation for Environmental Education) for the quality of its waters, coast, services, safety measures and environmental education.

The tourist port of Marina di Ragusa

The tourist port can take in more than 800 berths, becoming one of the three tourist hubs in Sicily (the first operative one); moreover it has been planned according the most advanced technological principles which place it at the top of the competing infrastructure in the Mediterranean Sea basin.

The reserve of Irminio River's Mouth

The Irminio is the longest river in the Province of Ragusa. It starts at the foot of Lauro Mount, an old inactive volcano of the Hyblaean tableland; after a long course it flows into the Mediterranean Sea. In ancient times the river represented the fastest vehicle and trajectory to connect the inland area to the coast.
